Venues

This year’s Literary Studies Conference in collaboration with ASLE-ASEAN consortium will take place mainly in Faculty of Letters Universitas Sanata Dharma main building and Driyarkara Auditorium Building. 

Notes about the venues

  1. During October, Indonesia is in rainy season. Rains are expected and the temperature may range from 30-36 Celcius. However, the air is pretty humid. You can bring your water bottle with you. The committee will provide drinking water to refill your bottles. 
  2. Smoking is prohibited in the university areas, unless in places with “smoking area” signs. 
  3. Indonesia uses type C/F (two-in-round plug) for electricity outlet plugs. You may need adapters for charging your electronic devices.
  4. In case that you need to use your own laptops/tablets in your presentations, the projectors in the venues use HDMI ports/plugs. You may bring your specified adapters for your devices. 
  5. Please study the map. A is Driyarkara Auditorium where the seminar room is located. B is Faculty of Letters main building. C is Graduate school building.

Transportation

Universitas Sanata Dharma is located in Yogyakarta, a province in Java island. There are several options to travel to an in Yogyakarta.

  1. Airport. There is Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Yogyakarta province. It is located 46.4 kilometers from Universitas Sanata Dharma. Most international flights come and go from this airport. This airport is connected via airport train to Yogyakarta city center. It is about one hour travel from the airport to Yogyakarta station via the airport train.
  2. Train stations. There are several train stations in Yogyakarta, namely Yogyakarta station, Lempuyangan station, and Wates station. The main train station is Yogyakarta station (some people call it Tugu Station). Participants arriving in Jakarta, Surabaya, or other cities in Java island can travel to Yogyakarta via train and choose Yogyakarta station as the arriving station. It is around 5.5 kilometers from Universitas Sanata Dharma. From Yogyakarta train station, participants can take taxi or online taxi (Grab or GoCar). 
  3. GoCar and Grab: Online taxi.  GoCar and Grab are two frequently transportation application used in Yogyakarta. They look similar by their green color. The application is available in iOS and android phones.
